About the Journal

History:

The Journal of the Undergraduate Linguistics Association of Britain (JoULAB) was established by the National Committee of the Undergraduate Linguistics Association of Britain (ULAB) in July 2020, during the global SARS-CoV-2 (coronavirus) pandemic in an attempt to provide as many opportunities as possible to undergraduate students of linguistics across the world.

It was initially founded with four Editorial Committee positions: Editor, Head of the Editorial Board (now Board of Reviewers), Associate Editor, and Copyeditor. Now, the Committee has ten members, and the Board of Reviewers has forty-six. Together, we run all aspects of the journal: submissions, reviews, copyediting, and publication.

Copyright Disclosure:

JoULAB is a platinum open access journal. All content is available to read without any charges to users or their institutions. Moreover, JoULAB is free distributively: we allow our authors to keep ownership, copyright, and freedom to share articles they publish with us, and in return the authors grant us the right of first publication, licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence. As such, anyone may share or adapt the content of articles within JoULAB only if they give appropriate credit to the author and Journal and only if they indicate whether and where changes were made. Further, we do not charge authors any fees of any kind at any stage of the submission and reviews processes.
